Since I have been doing so much with cake and fondant lately, my Beehive class (12-13 year-olds) at church wanted to get in on the fun. We set up a class activity a couple of weeks ago to make fondant monsters from Debbie Brown's 50 Easy Party Cakes book.
The girls worked in groups of two to make the marshmallow fondant. Then they choose their color and died their dough.
I'm afraid that by then they only had about 15 minutes to wrap their piece of cake in the fondant and create their monsters.
They did an amazing job considering the time crunch. Look, even little Betty Lou got in on the fun.
We didn't have time to stack them up, but everyone got to take home their little monster treat to show their family. Aren't they cute!
It was an ambitious undertaking for an hour long activity, but we all had a lot of fun, and made an absolute mess of the church's kitchen. (A couple of the girls even went home and made some fondant with their friends at home.)
I do what I can to pass along the cake obsession. :)

They turned out so cute! I would love to learn how to use fondant, although I think I have enough obsessions for now. :)
Your hair just looks so cute!!
What a fun activity.
